Christmas 2009

I really enjoyed this Christmas! I think last year was a blur because I had to keep an eye on Asher as she was only 4 months then and wasn’t complying and sleeping when she was supposed to and the year before I was about 1 month pregnant and feeling very sick with morning sickness and tired!

We had Christmas this year at my sister in laws place and it was so hot but lovely to have some sunshine! Large amounts of food and drink and good laughter.

Here are some photos. Click on each photo to enlarge.

Not forgotten

I thought I better mention in a post that I have not forgotten to post here or been too lazy. I have actually done 3 posts since the last one but they are private for now and I will make them public when the time is right. I’ve dated them so that when I do post them you will see the timeline.

I do have a number of other posts I can post and will do so later this week.

Week 12 weight loss update

I am sitting on 75kg’s. I am happy with that for now. Due to personal reasons that I can not get into on a public forum, my loosing weight is on hold till further notice. I will be going off the programme but still eating healthily and maintaining the weight.

It’s a new year and new things and changes are to come. I look forward to the bright future.

Week 11 weight loss update

My weigh in day was on Christmas day and as it was that time of month and with the delicious christmas food, I am up about 1kg. When I think about it, I actually think this is good. I ate sensibly over christmas, didn’t stuff myself and feel completely uncomfortable like the last few Christmases and so I believe that being up a kilo isn’t a true show of my weight. We are basically waiting till New years eve is over then we will go back to square one and be very strict until we go on holiday to Waiheke on the 25 Jan for 1 week! SO looking forward to it!

I am a Mary Kay consultant

I am excited to announce that I am a Mary Kay consultant. I am looking forward to earning a little bit of money on the side to buy things for myself and Asher instead of having to jump into money we shouldn’t use!

I plan on doing the pamper parties in the evening weeks and weekends with family and friends to start with. So, if you are reading this and you are interested in hosting a pamper party at your place, or you can have it at my place, call me! We can do make up, nails, body, perfume and even something for the male in your home. :)

I will be meeting with the lady that introduced me to it today to see where I go from here. She has been very kind and helpful in this all.

I have a target amount I need to reach each month and that means two parties per week apparently if I want to do that so here’s holding thumbs that I can do that!

The nice thing is that the people who do come to the parties don’t have to buy anything at all, and that takes so much pressure off!

I’ve bought the mineral powder foundation that surprisingly gives you fantastic coverage if you want it, or a very light and easy coverage if you are not into make up that much. I have also bought the massacre which I am really surprised at just how long my lashes look! It’s fantastic! I’m hooked!

So, don’t forget to contact me if you are interested!

Week 10 update

No gain, no loss. Christmas period is hard! We are hitting the diet hard this week leading up to Christmas and then back to the grind again in the new year!

Week 9 weight loss update

Due to a fabulous weekend with friends and family with a lot of eating involved I haven’t lost weight this week but rather put on 200g which is OK as I will not give up and keep pressing on. The Christmas season is probably the hardest month to stick to a healthy eating plan! The good thing is that I’m not putting on heaps when I do have proper meals, only a few 100 grams here and there. I just need to make sure I’m eating sensibly! I haven’t measured myself either. The other thing I’m doing is changing my weigh in date to a Friday rather than a Monday as the weekend can take it toll!

My husband is doing so well, 14kg’s lost! He is the lightest since he moved here about 14 years ago! Sucks that men can loose so quickly but I reckon if it wasn’t for women’s time of month, we would be just as fast. All the water retention during that week before and during slows down the weight loss considerably! Frustrating, but keep pressing on :)

I have decided I will wait till I have reached a 70kg’s which will be a 12kg loss then I will let you in on my eating plan.

Mary Kay Pamper night

A few weeks back I went to the Parent and child show and entered a contact sheet to have a pamper night through Mary Kay. Well last night was the event and I had two girlfriends join me for the pamper night.

At the moment I have been using Clinique make up and Aveeno skin care. Here’s is was routine:

Morning shower I use the Aveeno daily scrub then I moisturise with the Aveeno SPF 15 daily moisturiser. I use the Garnier eye caffeine roll on.

Then I apply my Thin Lizzy concealor to over redness and spots. Under eye concealor to cover tired eyes. Then I use liqued foundtion to cover my whole face and neck followed by powder to cover shine on my T-Zone, followed by bronzer on my cheeks and neck. Then I apply 3-4 types of eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and sometimes brow colour ending with lipbalm and lipsitck.

It’s full on but I enjoy doing it and I like how I look afterwards.

So I’ve run out of my foundation and last night came at a great time! I tried their mineral powder foundation and it had amazing coverage! It will seriously take 1-2 steps out of my routine which means less time in the bathroom and I can still look and feel great. It’s light and easy to apply and a very good price! I also tried the mascara and I’m loving that I can just use the mascara and not eyelines and eyeshadow. As for lipstick, I find it very hard to find a colour that suits, pinks and reds are terrible and stick out on me so browns or nude colours is what I have to look for, I have found a colour called Amber freeze which is great!

I’ve ordered the miniral powder, mascara and lipstick. Can’t wait for my order!

Week 8 weight loss progress

I would normally think I have failed this week but I have stuck to the programme and I have only lost 100g this week. I’m putting this down to “that time of month” where your body can hold onto 2kg’s! Mainly water I think and thats probably why one often feels bloated at that time too!

As for measurments, I have lost 2cm around my waist though!

We are heading to a resturant called Wildfire on Saturday night and in the morning I have a bookclub breakfast! I’m going to enjoy it!

Crazy to think we are now into our 9th week of this eating plan! Maybe I will let you guys in on what I’m doing next week… or when I reach 70kg’s. I will think about it.

1st birthday or bedroom duck wall decorations.

Another thing I did for Asher’s 1 birthday party was make duck wall decorations. Here are my photos and a little bit of a step by step.

I went online to Resene paints and found a outline of a duck to trace, so I printed it, cut it out and then traced the outside onto a firm piece of carboard and cut that out.

With the cut out cardboard I traced the outised onto some firm yellow paper/cardboard and cut them out. I got the paper from stationary warehouse.

These googly eyes I got from spotlight
This is what the duck looks like with the eyes and beaks glued on
The beaks I traced from the cardboard on some orange paper and cut them out.
These yellow turkey feathers I bought from Spotlight
My finished ducks with the feathers on.
